Misspelt domains or Domain Typosquatting as it is usually referred to, is the acquiring of a domain name which has typographical error when compared to the generic name or the parent name from which it may have been taken. The parent name may be any generic name or a name taken from the names of popular websites.
The sole purpose of such a domain is to divert traffic going to the parent website and make them visit their website in order to generate a financial profit.
WHY WOULD USERS VISIT A SITE WITH TYPO DOMAINS??
Most of the Internet users are terrible typists. In typing the web address of a website in the URL address bar, they make typographical error. As a result, they are taken to a totally different website which may have nothing to do with the parent website.
Hence, these web addresses with TYPOS may receive a huge amount of traffic. The more common the typo, the more the traffic and more valuable it is. And where there is traffic, there is business. Therefore, some of these domains may be highly valuable in the domain industry.
For example, I want to go to Facebook.com but instead I type Facebookcom.com ,i.e., I missed the dot in between. Therefore, I am taken to a different website which adds to the traffic of the website.
IS IT ILLEGAL TO HAVE A TYPO DOMAIN??
Possessing a typo domain may or may not be illegal depending on whether it infringes the trademark of a company. If it does so, then the domain is definitely illegal. And the possession of such a domain may lead to extremely difficult circumstances to the owner.
When there is no trademark infringement with the parent domain and it do gets a lot of visitors daily, I would say the domain is highly valuable if used properly. It may lead to a good business advertising on those domains and generating a substancial amount of money. You may get many potential customers who may be converted to sales if the website is designed properly.
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF A TYPO DOMAIN??
The value of any domain name is always the amount of money a buyer is ready to spend on that domain. Be it any domain, if there are people ready to buy that domain, it is valuable and if there are no buyers for the domain, there is no value to it. And that is how domaining industry works. A 3-letter domain is valuable. How valuable?? There is no answer to that. While one 3-letter domain may fetch $5000 on selling, another similar 3-letter domain which may be valuable to a particular company or organization may be valued over $20,000 depending on how much is the buyer willing to spend and the negotiation skills of the seller. In case of auctions, it is the market which decides the value of a domain but you can always set the 'Reserve Price' for those domains in auctions.
Again, in case of typo domains, trend is not different. The value of one typo domain may be less or more than other typo domains. Even some of the typo domains may have zero value.
For selling a typo domain, I would always recommend approaching the end user, who in this case, is the owner of the parent domain from which the typo domain derives its name. In case the owner of the primary domain approaches you to buy the domain, the ball is in your court. Negotiate a deal and profit from the domain.
To conclude, any typo domain has a value at which a buyer is ready to buy the domain. In case of generating revenue, if the domain receives a lot of traffic, or is a name that is predicted to become popular in the near future, there are bright chances of the domain being high valued and ending up in a purchase worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

DOMAIN FORWARDING
Domain Forwarding is a service which comes as a part of the domain name that you register for.
It is a tool by which you can direct the traffic visiting your URL to another url which may also belong to you or to your affiliate marketing website.
The service is free of cost and can be availed by visiting the settings of your domain name and choosing the domain forwarding tool. In the URL address, enter the web address that you want to be the destination of your domain.
It is a great method to sign up for an affiliate program and direct your domain directly to your destination URL by using the affiliate link in the Domain forwarding Window of your domain.
For example, I have this domain called CraveMoney.com
But when you search for cravemoney.com , you are directly taken to Easy-forex.com which is where I have forwarded my domain to, using my affiliate link. When someone signs-up with the website using my domain, I am paid some commission as an affiliate.
So, domain forwarding is a small but essential tool which may help you generate significant income online with almost any domain name, if used properly.
Go and enable it now if you have any unused or un-parked domain.
Good Luck!!

Using the Masking option
Another option that is asked when forwarding a domain is MASKING to be enabled or disabled.
Masking means whether the user or the visitor of the website should know that they are being taken to another website or not.
If you enable the masking, i.e., Masking is ON, then the URL in the web browser will show your original domain name and user will not have the slightest indication that they have been taken to another web address. They may consider the destination website to be your original one.
While if you disable the masking, i.e., Masking is OFF, then the URL in the web browser will show the domain name of the website on which you have forwarded the visitor or the URL and user will know that they have been taken to another web address.

DOMAIN APPRAISAL- WHAT IS THE VALUE OF MY DOMAIN??
The value of a domain name is the price range around which the domain is predicted to be sold. Owning a website or a domain name is like owning a piece of real estate and therefore, there is certain value for each domain name that you own ranging from as little as $1 to millions of dollars.
The longer you hold the name, the more valuable it may get.
The longer you hold the name, the more valuable it may get.
DOMAIN APPRAISAL is a term frequently used whenever there is a reference to valuating a domain name. It is the service offered by companies in which the domain name is valued on certain criterias which may include the number of searches for the name, i.e., popularity , the past records for the name, backlinks, age, length of the domain name, whether it a generic name, presence of hyphen or numbers, previous sales record of similar names, etc.
Some of the websites which offer a free domain appraisal based on different algorithms which they follow are listed below:
1- GoDaddy.com
3- Instica.com
4- Estibot.com
5- Valuate.com
6- Sedo.com
7- NDDConsulting.com
One of the paid services for domain appraisal can be found at DomainAppraisal.org
Though using the Domain Appraisal gives you a rough idea of what a domain name could be worth, the real price may greatly vary from the appraised price depending on the type of customer and its value to his business.
Some of the customers may go crazy about a domain name and they may make an offer which the owner may not reject. The value of a domain name is its value to a particular business. If a business sees a good oppurtunity in your domain name, they may be willing to pay a price much above your expectation or the Domain Appraisal value.
On the other hand, if a business does not find any value in the name that you own (however good it may be), they may not pay you a single buck even if the domain is worth many times more.
While some of the generic names are valued over a million dollars, most of them have been taken and are not available for registrations anymore. A 3 or 4-letter word domain is a good domain to have. They get sold at a considerably high value.
THE TOP 10 DOMAIN SALES OF THE YEAR 2013 ARE LISTED BELOW
1- IG.com $4,700,000
2- 114.com $2,100,000
3- MathGames.com $725,000
4- ReverseMortages.com $600,000
5- Brand.com $500,000
6- Body.com $380,000
7- Booker.com $375,000
8- DJI.com $300,000
8- Mojo.com $300,000
8- Yinhang.com $300,000
I don't think anyone would have predicted the value of these domains to be anywhere around the value for which they were sold.
And that is what is called 'The Art of Domain Flipping'
In a nutshell, the domain appraisal is an approximate value which may be used to price a domain.
It facilitates the seller to place a minimum or an approximate asking price from the prospective buyers. It also facilitates the buyer, a sense of satisfaction for the price which he has paid for the domain.
However, the actual price of a domain is what the buyer is ready to pay. If there is a great demand for a name, the price may soar very high and vice-versa.
At the end of the day, each and every domain name that you own has a potential to be a name that businesses may opt for and are ready to pay a significant price. You just need to market yourself properly. Finding a prospective buyer, or the best being, finding the end user for a domain may prove to be a highly lucrative and successful venture fetching a handsome amount of money.
Don't get upset if a domain name that you own has a very low or 0 appraisal value and don't get very happy if they have appraised it for a really high value. It all depends on your marketing skills and the business needs.
So why wait?? Go out there and find the prospective buyers for your domain. You may use the WhoIs directory to find the details of buyers who may interested in your domain. If you are successful, even a 0$ value name may go for huge profits!!

MAKING MONEY FROM DOMAIN FLIPPING
Money-making online may seem very simple from a bird's eye view. But as you get into the industry to try your hands on it, you get to know the real challenge behind it. While it may be a child's play for some people making money online, there are many who could never make it. It all depends on the art that you learn from the experience by actually stepping in and with time. It all depends on the training and experience.
I will guide you through my experience which has made me thousands of dollars in the past year since I began my career in this industry.
Domain flipping or Domaining is a business and an art of making money online where one buys a domain name at a certain price with a view of selling it at a higher price to an end user or monetizing it to bring in a stable cash flow to the domainer.
The person involved in this venture is called a DOMAINER.
The secret lies in buying a domain name (an intellectual property) with a view that others might be needing it for their business or brand. Then look for the correct buyer who is willing to pay a good price for your domain. The domain need not be a brandable one. Just any domain which has expired or aged or any general domain name which you think you can sell to a business is all you need.
It is an industry with a huge potential and promising returns. And the best part is it- You can take it as a PART-TIME JOB, CAREER or just as a HOBBY and make some good money out of it. You can easily make from anywhere around 500$-2000$ trading in domain names. And the best part is, it doesn't require much of your time.
There is no loss involved. The worst case scenario---YOU BREAK EVEN !!
The domains can be registered with the DOMAIN REGISTRAR companies such as GoDaddy.com
They are the cheapest and best service providers in the domain and Website industry.

ADVANTAGES OF A DOMAIN NAME
You can use the address to develop your online property called WEBSITES. Your email is delivered to the inbox of that location, i.e.,address of the domain.
Besides, you get to own the domain name for a particular period of time(minimum being 1 year) at a minimal cost just that anybody can afford.
Moreover, domain names are transferable.
They can be sold at any given point of time.
They can be parked and you can generate money doing nothing, absolutely nothing.
Having numerous advantages, there is no reason for you not to have a domain name.
Either you profit from it or at the most, you BREAK EVEN. There would be NO LOSS in registering a domain be it the minimal registration fee.
Registering a domain name is done through a REGISTRAR who manages the domain for you in a master registry and handles a billing.
One of the biggest registrar companies in this market is GoDaddy.com
It is the biggest service provider and has excellent support system.

WHAT IS A DOMAIN NAME??
Just like you have an address to the place you live, domain name is a analogous to your home address, only that it is your address on the web.
Every time you type in a web address or send an email, you are using domains controlled by an individual person or a group or an organization. Domains are deceptively simple. In fact very simple to make out. You may recognize them as the characters that follow the @ in the email address. The actual structure is more complex than it may appear on the surface, and it may be used in different ways.
Lets take an example:
Registered domain with a registrar: exam.com
Email: yourname@exam.com
Domain name for a website: www.exam.com
URL(Uniform Resource Locator): http://www.exam.com/index.html
The domain you use is your address to the web.It functions in ways similar to snail mail delivered to a mailbox at a physical address.
